dagdhe manasije pūrvaṃ devena tripurāriṇā | tadarthāya tapastepe tasmindeśe ratiḥ kila
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Ratīśvara (Prabhāsa-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī
Scene: After Kāma is burned by Tripurāri, Rati—grief-stricken yet resolute—undertakes austerities in Prabhāsa, seeking her husband’s restoration; the scene juxtaposes Śiva’s fiery power with Rati’s steadfast devotion.
Austerity and steadfast devotion are shown as the dharmic response to loss—transforming personal grief into sacred striving.
The Ratīśvara area within Prabhāsa Kṣetra, where Rati is said to have undertaken tapas.
Tapas (austerity) is highlighted as the spiritual discipline undertaken at the site.
