skaṃda uvāca | athottarasyāmāśāyāṃ kuṃḍamarkākhyamuttamam | tatra nāmnottarārkeṇa raśmimālī vyavasthitaḥ
斯坎达说道:如今在北方,有一处殊胜之池,名为阿尔迦(Arka)。彼处,日神——以光线为鬘者——以“乌塔拉尔迦(Uttarārka)”之名安住。
Skanda
Tirtha: Arka-kuṇḍa (Uttarārka)
Type: kund
Listener: A disciplined interlocutor addressed as ‘suvrata’ (likely a sage/ṛṣi in the Kāśīkhaṇḍa dialogue frame)
Scene: Skanda points out the northern quarter of Kāśī where a radiant pond named Arka lies; Sūrya is envisioned as a figure crowned with rays, seated above the waters as ‘Uttarārka’.
Kāśī’s landscape is mapped as divine presence; even directions hold sanctified sites where deities abide.
Arka-kuṇḍa / Uttarārka-kuṇḍa in the northern sector of Kāśī.
None yet; the verse introduces the site and its presiding solar presence.
