महेश उवाच । शृण्वंबिके ह्यद्भुतवृत्तकारे उत्पन्न एषोऽद्भुतचण्डवीर्यः । निमीलिते चक्षुषि मे भवत्या स स्वेदजो मेंधकनामधेयः
maheśa uvāca | śṛṇvaṃbike hyadbhutavṛttakāre utpanna eṣo'dbhutacaṇḍavīryaḥ | nimīlite cakṣuṣi me bhavatyā sa svedajo meṃdhakanāmadheyaḥ
摩诃湿婆说道：“听着，阿姆毗迦啊，你能引发奇妙转折者。此人已然出生——奇异非常，威力凶猛。你令我双目闭合之时，他由我的汗液而生；其名为门陀迦（Meṇḍhaka）。”
