शब्दवेध्य-अनर्थः, ऋषिशापः, दशरथस्य प्राणत्यागः
The Sound-Target Tragedy, the Sage’s Curse, and Dasaratha’s Death
एतन्मे सदृशं देवि यन्मया राघवे कृतम्।सदृशं तत्तु तस्यैव यदनेन कृतं मयि।।।।
etan me sadṛśaṁ devi yan mayā rāghave kṛtam | sadṛśaṁ tat tu tasyaiva yad anena kṛtaṁ mayi ||
王后啊,我对罗伽婆所做之事,如今理当回到我身上;而他对我所做的,也唯有他那般品性才做得出来。
Whatever I have done to the scion of the Raghu family (Rama) is befitting me, O Devi. And whatever he has done in respect of me is also worthy of him.
Moral reciprocity: one’s deeds return as one’s experience, while the righteous person’s conduct remains consistent with their dharma.
Daśaratha compares his own action of sending Rāma away with the consequence now falling on him, while affirming Rāma’s dignified response.
Rāma’s maryādā (ethical restraint and propriety): his conduct toward his father remains worthy, even under injustice.
