परितुष्टा हि सा देवी वनवासं गते मयि।राजानं नातिशङ्केत 'मिथ्यावादी'ति धार्मिकम्।।2.52.62।।
parituṣṭā hi sā devī vanavāsaṃ gate mayi |
rājānaṃ nātiśaṅketa 'mithyāvādī' iti dhārmikam || 2.52.62 ||
因为当那王后完全满足于我已前往林居之时,她便不再怀疑那位正义的国王,心想:‘他是说谎者。’
If queen Kaikeyi is fully satisfied that I have gone to dwell in the forest, she will no longer have any doubt and will believe that righteous king Dasaratha is not a liar.
Satya and royal credibility: Rāma acts to protect Daśaratha’s reputation for truth, showing that a king’s dharma includes being trusted as सत्यवादी.
Rāma anticipates Kaikeyī’s suspicion and arranges circumstances so she cannot accuse Daśaratha of falsehood regarding the exile.
