The verse frames Sītā’s forthcoming argument as rooted in praṇaya (devoted love) and wifely dharma: her emotional force is not selfish anger but commitment to shared duty.
After Rāma lists forest hardships to deter her, Sītā—normally gentle—responds with passionate determination and begins her rebuttal.
Sītā’s steadfast devotion (anurāga/praṇaya) and courage: she is willing to challenge discouragement to uphold her vision of marital dharma.
