Proposal for Rāma’s Installation as Heir-Apparent
विदितं भवतामेतद्यथा मे राज्यमुत्तमम्।पूर्वकैर्मम राजेन्द्रैस्सुतवत्परिपालितम्।।2.2.4।।
viditaṃ bhavatām etad yathā me rājyam uttamam | pūrvakair mama rājendraiḥ sutavat paripālitam || 2.2.4 ||
诸位都清楚:我这上妙的国度,昔日由我的王族先君们治理——那些大王如抚育亲子一般,慈护其臣民。
Rama, a tiger among men, always enquires whether our disciples discharge their duties.
Rāja-dharma: a king must protect and nurture the people with parental responsibility, not exploit them; governance is caretaking.
