अत्र्याश्रमगमनम् तथा अनसूयोपदेशः
Arrival at Atri’s Hermitage and Anasuya’s Counsel
शिथिलां वलितां वृद्धां जरापाण्डुरमूर्धजाम्।सततं वेपमानाङ्गीं प्रवाते कदलीं यथा।। 2.117.17।।तां तु सीता महाभागामनसूयां पतिव्रताम्।अभ्यवादयदव्यग्रा स्वंनाम समुदाहरत्।।2.117.18।।
tāṃ tu sītā mahābhāgām anasūyāṃ pativratām |
abhyavādayad avyagrā svaṃ nāma samudāharat ||
于是悉多不慌不忙、心神专注,向大福德、守贞节的阿那苏耶致敬,并报上自己的名字。
Sita offered her obeisance to the blameless ascetic, Anasuya, folding her palms and enquired of her well-being in delight.
Dharma is expressed through respectful self-introduction and proper salutation to elders and ascetics; truthfulness (satya) appears in openly stating one’s identity without pride.
Sītā formally greets Anasūyā, performing the culturally appropriate act of homage and announcing who she is.
Sītā’s modesty and composure (avyagratā), and her reverence for a renowned pativratā.
