Description of Pilgrimage to the Sacred Fords
श्रद्धया परया देवं येऽर्चयंति सनातनम् । फाल्गुनस्य चतुर्दश्यां कृष्णपक्षे समाहिताः ॥ १२ ॥
śraddhayā parayā devaṃ ye'rcayaṃti sanātanam | phālgunasya caturdaśyāṃ kṛṣṇapakṣe samāhitāḥ || 12 ||
凡以至上信心、心神专注,於法尔古那月黑半月(kṛṣṇa-pakṣa)之第十四日(caturdaśī)礼拜永恒之主者——
Suta (narrating Narada Purana’s vrata-mahatmya section; teaching attributed within the Narada–Sanatkumara discourse framework)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"bhakti","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_journey":"Begins with intense śraddhā and concentration, focusing devotion onto a specific sacred tithi for worship of the Eternal Lord."}
It highlights that the fruit of a vrata is rooted in inner qualities—supreme faith (parā śraddhā) and mental steadiness (samāhita)—while worshipping the Eternal Lord on an auspicious tithi (Phālguna kṛṣṇa caturdaśī).
Bhakti here is defined not only by external pūjā (arcana) but by wholehearted trust in the deity and one-pointed attention, indicating that devotion becomes potent when the mind is gathered and reverent.
It applies calendrical discipline—tithi and pakṣa reckoning (a Jyotiṣa/Vedāṅga-aligned time-marker)—showing how ritual timing in the lunar month (Phālguna, kṛṣṇa-pakṣa, caturdaśī) is integral to Narada Purana observances.
