Mohinī-Ākhyāna: Rukmāṅgada’s Refusal to Eat on Harivāsara
Ekādaśī
एषा गुरुतरा भूत्वा लोकानां शिक्षयान्विता । दुंदुभी कुर्वती नादं सा कथं वितथा भवेत् ॥ ५ ॥
eṣā gurutarā bhūtvā lokānāṃ śikṣayānvitā | duṃdubhī kurvatī nādaṃ sā kathaṃ vitathā bhavet || 5 ||
此教诲至为厚重,具足对诸世间的训诫,犹如大鼓鸣响;因此,它怎会是虚妄?
Narada
Vrata: Ekadashi (contextual; not named in this verse)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It asserts the trustworthiness of a dharmic teaching: when a doctrine is heavy with authority and meant to instruct the world, it proclaims itself openly like a drumbeat and is not to be treated as false.
By emphasizing reliable instruction for all people, it supports bhakti as a disciplined, teachable path grounded in trustworthy guidance rather than private opinion—devotion is strengthened by correct teaching and public dharmic proclamation.
Śikṣā (the Vedāṅga of phonetics and correct recitation) is explicitly referenced as the instructional framework—implying that accurate transmission and disciplined learning make the teaching authoritative.
