aṣṭalakṣaṃ japenmaṃtraṃ tatsahasraṃ ghṛtānvitaiḥ | pāyasairjuhuyātpīṭhemūrtiṃ saṃkalpya mūlataḥ || 105 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It links inner discipline (large-scale japa) with outer consecration (homa), emphasizing that ritual power is grounded in saṅkalpa and clear establishment of the deity’s mūrti at the pīṭha.
By requiring the practitioner to conceive the deity’s form and offer oblations after sustained japa, it frames devotion as steady remembrance (japa) culminating in reverential offering (homa) to the personally envisioned divine presence.
It highlights ritual-technical procedure (kalpa-style praxis): prescribed counts for japa and homa, correct use of ghṛta and pāyasa as oblation materials, and the necessity of saṅkalpa and mūrti-sthāpana at the pīṭha.
