The verse frames omens (nimitta) as Dharma-guided practical knowledge—signals to act with caution and discernment in transitions (arrival/departure) and in high-stakes public settings like royal affairs.
Indirectly, it supports Bhakti by encouraging mindful, sattvic conduct in worldly duties; a devotee uses such guidance to avoid harm and uphold Dharma while remaining inwardly devoted to the Lord.
It reflects Jyotiṣa/Nimitta-śāstra usage: interpreting situational signs during key moments—meeting travellers, entering/exiting places, and at official thresholds like the rājadvāra.
