न चद्विजा तिशुश्रूषां कुर्वंति चरणोद्भवाः । द्विजातिधर्मान्गृह्णन्ति पाखण्डलिङ्गिनोऽधमाः ॥ ५४ ॥
na cadvijā tiśuśrūṣāṃ kurvaṃti caraṇodbhavāḥ | dvijātidharmāngṛhṇanti pākhaṇḍaliṅgino'dhamāḥ || 54 ||
而那些“生自足下者”不再侍奉再生者;反倒是最卑下之人——身带异端标记者——擅自攫取本属再生者的职责与法行。

It warns that dharma collapses when rightful duties and disciplined conduct (śuśrūṣā, sadācāra) are abandoned, and when people adopt religious externalities without inner qualification or integrity.
By condemning mere outward signs (liṅga) and hypocritical identity, it implicitly supports bhakti as sincerity and right conduct rather than display—devotion must be grounded in humility, service, and truthfulness.
It points to adhikāra (eligibility) for Vedic duties—an applied dharma principle used in ritual practice (kalpa) and interpretation (mīmāṃsā-style reasoning), distinguishing authentic discipline from imitation.
