Śuka’s Origin, Mastery of Śāstra, and Testing at Janaka’s Court

संलापालापकुशाला भावज्ञाः सर्वकोविदाः । परं पंचाशतस्तस्य पाद्यादीनि व्यकल्पयन् ॥ ६४ ॥

saṃlāpālāpakuśālā bhāvajñāḥ sarvakovidāḥ | paraṃ paṃcāśatastasya pādyādīni vyakalpayan || 64 ||

她们善于雅谈妙语,能体察「bhāva」——内在的意向与情感——又通晓诸艺;于是为他备办了五十余种迎奉之礼,从洗足之水(pādya)等一切款待次第具足。
