Jīva–Ātman Inquiry; Kṣetrajña Doctrine; Karma-based Varṇa; Four Āśramas and Sannyāsa Discipline
भृगुरुवाच । स्वधर्माचरणे युक्ता ये भवंति मनीषिणः । तेषां स्वर्गपलावाप्तिर्योऽन्यथा स विमुह्यते ॥ १०३ ॥
bhṛguruvāca | svadharmācaraṇe yuktā ye bhavaṃti manīṣiṇaḥ | teṣāṃ svargapalāvāptiryo'nyathā sa vimuhyate || 103 ||
婆利古说道:凡智者安住于自身所当行之本分(svadharma)的修持,便得天界之果;若违背而行,则陷于迷妄。
Bhṛgu
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
It teaches that steadfastness in svadharma (one’s rightful duty) produces orderly spiritual progress and favorable results, while abandoning it leads to confusion and misdirection.
Though it speaks in the language of karma and svadharma, it supports bhakti by insisting on disciplined, truthful living—svadharma becomes the ethical foundation that stabilizes devotion and worship.
The verse implies dharma-śāstra-based discernment (proper duty by varṇa/āśrama and circumstance); while no single Vedāṅga is named, correct application depends on understanding injunctions (vidhi) and prohibitions (niṣedha) used in Vedic ritual and conduct.
