Suta (narrating the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue context; verse states the phalaśruti of the Anukramaṇikā section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It declares that reverently arranging or attending the recitation of the Anukramaṇī (the ordered Purāṇic summary), with offerings and respect, yields the same highest merit as hearing the Purāṇa itself—highlighting devotion-centered śravaṇa as a complete spiritual practice.
Bhakti is framed as intention plus reverent action: desiring Bhagavān-bhakti, honoring the sacred recitation with dāna (vastra, hema, etc.), and engaging in śravaṇa/śrāvaṇa (listening or facilitating hearing) becomes a direct means to the ‘supreme fruit’ of Purāṇic devotion.
The verse emphasizes ritual praxis—proper śravaṇa (hearing), śrāvaṇa (public recitation), and dāna as supportive acts—rather than a specific Vedāṅga; it reflects smārta-paurāṇic procedure for conducting sacred readings and earning puṇya.
