tatas tūryaninādāś ca śaṅkhānāṃ ca sahasraśaḥ | siṃhanādāś ca saṃjajñuḥ bherīṇāṃ ca mahāsvanāḥ ||

The verse highlights how collective martial signals—conches, drums, and heroic cries—can inflame courage and unity, yet they also foreshadow the moral weight of impending slaughter. It invites reflection on how external excitement can propel action, making discernment and restraint crucial even amid righteous duty.
As the battle intensifies in Droṇa Parva, the battlefield erupts with the sounds of instruments and shouts: thousands of conches and trumpets blare, warriors roar like lions, and massive drums thunder across the field, signaling a major surge in combat.
