The verse highlights a moral tension: even in a fratricidal war, society instinctively applauds visible courage and skill. It invites reflection on how admiration for valor can coexist with, and sometimes obscure, the ethical tragedy of violence.
As warriors from the Pāṇḍava and Kuru sides charge at each other, many spectators watch, and a loud chorus of “sādhu, sādhu” (“bravo!”) rises from both armies, resounding across the battlefield.
