Gṛhastha-Vrata
विषये वासवस्तस्य सम्यगेव प्रवर्षति । इन्द्रके समान पराक्रमी और युद्धसे कभी पीछे न हटनेवाले राजा दुर्योधनके राज्यमें इन्द्र सदा ठीक समयपर और उचित मात्रामें ही वर्षा करते थे
viṣaye vāsavas tasya samyag eva pravarṣati |
毗湿摩说道:在那位国王的疆土中,婆娑婆(Vāsava,因陀罗)降雨恰到好处——应时而至,分量得宜。此言描绘杜尤陀那之国表面上富庶而井然有序,同时也暗示:更深层的正义与德行之评判,当由正法(dharma)裁决,而非仅凭丰收与甘霖。
भीष्म उवाच
The verse links good governance and social order with natural regularity (timely rain), while implicitly reminding that prosperity is not the sole measure of righteousness; dharma must be assessed by conduct and justice, not only by outward success.
Bhishma is describing conditions in Duryodhana’s kingdom, noting that Indra granted rain in the right season and quantity, portraying the realm as materially stable and well-supplied.
