संशय: सुगमस्तत्र दुर्गमस्तस्य निर्णय: । दृष्ट श्रुतमनन्तं हि यत्र संशयदर्शनम्
saṁśayaḥ sugamas tatra durgamas tasya nirṇayaḥ | dṛṣṭa-śrutam anantaṁ hi yatra saṁśaya-darśanam ||
毗湿摩说道：“在达摩之事上，生疑甚易，而作出艰深而确切的裁断却极其困难。因为无论是亲见之事，还是从权威传承所闻之教，都无穷无尽——而在二者之中，疑端皆必然出现。”
