The verse teaches reverent humility: true greatness—here identified with Śaṅkara—stands beyond ordinary comparison, and recognizing such unsurpassed excellence is itself an ethical stance against pride and rivalry.
Vāyu is speaking in praise, declaring that no being can face or equal the great-souled Śaṅkara; it functions as a stuti that establishes Śiva’s unrivaled status across the three worlds.
