Educational Q&A

The verse teaches moral causality and personal responsibility: honor or disgrace, and more broadly the outcomes of life, arise from one’s own actions. No one else can ultimately take away or bear the fruit of another’s karma.

Śrī Maheśvara is speaking in an instructive mode, emphasizing that social reverence and worldly standing are grounded in one’s conduct, and that each person inevitably receives the results of their own deeds.
