ūrdhvā́yai tvā diśé bṛ́haspátaye ’dhípataye śvitrā́ya rakṣitré varṣā́yeṣumáte | etáṃ pári dadmás táṃ no gopāyatāsmā́kam áitoḥ | diṣṭáṃ no átrá jarásé ní neṣaj jarā́ mṛtyáve pári ṇo dadātvátha pakvéna sahá sáṃ bhavema
To the Upward Quarter thee we assign—to Bṛhaspati as its Lord, to Śvitra the Guardian, to Rain, arrow-armed. This do we set about us: let it guard us from the assailant. Here may our appointed lot conduct us unto old age; let Age set a fence about us against Death; then, with ripeness, may we together be made whole.
