mānasānāṃ rujādīnāṃ viṣṇoḥ stotraṃ haraṃ bhavet vātapittakaphā doṣā dhātavaś ca tathā śṛṇu
Lord Agni (in instruction to the sage Vasiṣṭha, in the Agni Purāṇa’s didactic dialogue frame)

It teaches a form of stotra-cikitsā (devotional/recitative therapy): reciting a Viṣṇu-hymn is prescribed as a remover of mental afflictions, and it transitions into the Ayurvedic framework of tridoṣa and dhātu analysis.
It exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s cross-disciplinary method—placing devotional practice (Viṣṇu-stotra) alongside clinical categories (vāta–pitta–kapha doṣas and dhātus), blending religion, psychology, and Ayurveda in one continuous instructional sequence.
It frames healing as both therapeutic and purificatory: praising Viṣṇu is presented as spiritually efficacious for alleviating inner suffering, implying that devotion supports clarity of mind and restoration of balance.
