“Hỡi người bị xem là hạ tiện, bậc có tâm lớn! Xin cứu chúng tôi bằng sự bố thí thức ăn. Chúng tôi gầy mòn, bị đói hành hạ, mạng sống như đang treo trên sợi chỉ.”
Ṛṣis (sages) (as quoted within Śiva’s narration)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Close-up of sages with folded hands, gaunt bodies, pleading to the householder; the emotional center is their vulnerability and the moral appeal to the ‘great-minded’ one.
Anna-dāna is portrayed as immediate protection of life; compassion is dharma in action.
The episode supports the Māhātmya leading to Akṣamāleśvara/Ugraseneśvara in Prabhāsa-kṣetra.
Giving food (anna-dāna) as a saving, meritorious act.
