समादाय पितॄंस्तर्प्य यावदग्नौ जुहोति सः । तावद्वह्निः परित्यज्य समस्तमपि भूतलम्
samādāya pitṝṃstarpya yāvadagnau juhoti saḥ | tāvadvahniḥ parityajya samastamapi bhūtalam
Cầm lấy, ông làm lễ tarpaṇa để làm thỏa lòng các Pitṛ (tổ tiên) rồi bắt đầu dâng cúng vào lửa. Nhưng trong suốt lúc ông đang làm các lễ hiến ấy, ngọn lửa rời chỗ, lan tràn khắp mặt đất.
