कारणं कथ्यतामाशु वह्नीन्द्रवसुभिर्युताः । देवा ऊचुः । दैत्यैः पराजितास्तात संगरेऽद्भुतकारिभिः
kāraṇaṃ kathyatāmāśu vahnīndravasubhiryutāḥ | devā ūcuḥ | daityaiḥ parājitāstāta saṃgare'dbhutakāribhiḥ
“Xin hãy nói rõ nguyên do ngay,” (Phạm Thiên) bảo, khi chư Thiên—cùng Agni, Indra và các Vasu—đứng trước Ngài. Chư Thiên thưa: “Ôi bậc phụ tôn đáng kính, chúng con đã bị các Dānava, những kẻ làm nên kỳ công, đánh bại trong chiến trận.”
