तस्मात्कुरु प्रसादं नः सर्वेषां च नृणां विभो । संधारय पुनर्लिंगं स्वकीयं सुरसत्तम
tasmātkuru prasādaṃ naḥ sarveṣāṃ ca nṛṇāṃ vibho | saṃdhāraya punarliṃgaṃ svakīyaṃ surasattama
Vì thế, bậc Chúa tể, xin đoái thương chúng con và toàn thể nhân loại. Ôi đấng tối thượng giữa chư thiên, xin nâng lại chính Liṅga thiêng của Ngài và gìn giữ, nâng đỡ nó một lần nữa.
Devāḥ (the gods), addressing Śiva
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śiva
Scene: Devas (or sages) in añjali plead before Śiva: ‘be gracious to us and all mankind’; the liṅga appears as a radiant emblem needing to be lifted/steadied, suggesting cosmic balance.
Divine grace (prasāda) is sought not only for the gods but for all beings; sustaining the Liṅga symbolizes sustaining dharma in the world.
The verse occurs within Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya framework, where the Liṅga’s presence itself functions as the sanctifying center of the tīrtha narrative (the precise site is developed in the surrounding passage).
Implicitly, the preservation and worship of the Liṅga—an underpinning for later prescriptions of Liṅga-pūjā and tīrtha-sevā in the chapter.
