Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 35
स्नेहात्करणरागश्च प्रजज्ञे वैषयस्तथा । अश्रेयस्कावुभावतौ पूर्वस्तत्र गुरुः स्मृतः
snehātkaraṇarāgaśca prajajñe vaiṣayastathā | aśreyaskāvubhāvatau pūrvastatra guruḥ smṛtaḥ
Từ luyến ái chấp trước phát sinh sự nhuốm màu của các căn (dục nhiễm), và cả lòng ham muốn đối với cảnh trần. Cả hai đều là nhân của điều bất thiện; và trong việc này, cái thứ nhất—luyến ái—được nhớ là kẻ xúi giục chủ yếu.
