संसदि व्रीडयाऽश्रुत्य आर्थिभ्यः प्रददाति च । प्रतिदीयते च यद्दानं व्रीडादानमिति श्रुतम्
saṃsadi vrīḍayā'śrutya ārthibhyaḥ pradadāti ca | pratidīyate ca yaddānaṃ vrīḍādānamiti śrutam
Sự bố thí mà người ta trao cho kẻ cầu xin giữa hội chúng vì ngượng ngùng (sợ bị chê trách), và rồi lại được đáp trả—được nghe gọi là “bố thí vì hổ thẹn” (vrīḍā-dāna).
