सदा पौनर्भवा कन्या वर्ज नीया कुलाधमा । वाचा दत्ता मनोदत्ता कृतकौतुकमंगला

Transliteration

sadā paunarbhavā kanyā varja nīyā kulādhamā | vācā dattā manodattā kṛtakautukamaṃgalā

Translation

Thiếu nữ bị “punarbhavā” — tức bị trả về rồi lại đem gả nhiều lần — thì người giữ gìn gia-dharma phải luôn tránh nhận làm tân nương. Cũng vậy, cô gái đã được hứa gả bằng lời, đã được chấp nhận trong tâm, hoặc đã cử hành nghi lễ đính hôn cát tường, thì người khác không nên cưới lấy.
