अतः पतिव्रतायास्त्वं शापं भुंक्ष्व यथोल्बणम् । अद्यप्रभृति नारीषु यदा त्वमपि संगतः । तदा मृतिस्तवेत्युक्त्वा विवेश ज्वलनं सती
ataḥ pativratāyāstvaṃ śāpaṃ bhuṃkṣva yatholbaṇam | adyaprabhṛti nārīṣu yadā tvamapi saṃgataḥ | tadā mṛtistavetyuktvā viveśa jvalanaṃ satī
"Do đó, vì lòng chung thủy của ta, ngươi sẽ phải chịu một lời nguyền tàn khốc. Từ nay về sau, hễ ngươi ân ái với bất kỳ người phụ nữ nào, cái chết sẽ đến với ngươi." Nói xong, người phụ nữ đức hạnh ấy bước vào ngọn lửa.
