Tirtha: Kailāsa (dharma-vicāra at the threshold)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Hanumān protests: ‘What sin did I commit, acting for the gods? I slew wicked rākṣasas who harmed brāhmaṇas and the limbs of sacrifice.’
Purāṇic ethics distinguishes righteous intent from subtle karmic residue; even dharmic acts raise questions that are resolved through prescribed purification.
Not named in this verse; the chapter’s resolution points to Revā/Narmadā tīrthas as the cleansing locus.
None here; it prepares for the later instruction of tīrtha-snāna for removing the darkness arising from such acts.
