so'bhijñānaṃ tato dṛṣṭvā nītvāsthīni nareśvara | pūrvoktena vidhānena prākṣipaṃ nārmadā masipuṣpavṛṣṭiḥ'śu sādhu sādhviti pāṇḍava | vimānaṃ ca tato divyamāgataṃ barhiṇastadā
Narrator addressing a Pāṇḍava king (listener addressed as nareśvara, pāṇḍava)
Tirtha: Narmadā-tīrtha (Hanūmanteśvara vicinity)
Type: kshetra
Listener: A Pāṇḍava (likely Yudhiṣṭhira in typical Purāṇic framing, but not explicit)
Scene: On the bank of the Narmadā, the narrator casts collected bones into the flowing river as per rite; immediately a shower of sword-like blossoms descends while unseen voices acclaim ‘sādhu sādhu’; a radiant vimāna appears in the sky above the riverbank.
When rites are performed exactly as enjoined at a powerful tīrtha, the unseen world responds with auspicious signs, affirming the efficacy of dharma.
The Narmadā (Revā) and its tīrtha-setting in this chapter, associated with Hanūmanteśvara.
Immerse the remains in the Narmadā following the previously taught method, after verifying the identification token.
