ध्यानप्रकारनिर्णयः / Determination of the Modes of Meditation
on Śrīkaṇṭha-Śiva
धनं तस्य भजेच्छैवः शैवी चेतस्य सन्ततिः । नास्ति चेत्तच्छिवे दद्यान्नदद्यात्पशुसन्ततिः
dhanaṃ tasya bhajecchaivaḥ śaivī cetasya santatiḥ | nāsti cettacchive dadyānnadadyātpaśusantatiḥ
Một người Śaiva nên nhận của cải của người có tâm Śaiva và dòng dõi cũng tận hiến cho Śiva. Nhưng nếu không có dòng dõi mang tâm Śaiva như vậy, thì nên dâng của cải ấy lên Śiva; chớ trao cho những kẻ còn bị trói buộc như paśu (chúng sinh trong ràng buộc).

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga legend; it is a dharma-vidhi about wealth-transfer aligned with śaiva affiliation, distinguishing śaiva lineage from 'paśu' (bound) orientation.
Significance: Encourages directing resources toward Śiva and Śiva-oriented communities; frames non-Śaiva recipients as remaining under pāśa (bondage), hence not the intended channel for śaiva dāna.
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that wealth becomes spiritually fruitful when aligned with Śiva-bhakti: gifts should support devotion to Pati (Śiva) and not reinforce bondage (pāśa) in paśu-like living.
By directing wealth toward Śiva when true Śaiva continuity is absent, the verse prioritizes offering to Saguna Śiva (such as through Liṅga worship, temple service, and Śiva-upacāras) as the safest channel for merit and inner purification.
It implies Śiva-dāna: offering resources for Liṅga-pūjā, abhiṣeka, bhasma/Tripuṇḍra supplies, rudrākṣa, lamps, and support of Śaiva worship—paired with Śiva-smaraṇa and japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
