Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu

Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; the verse functions as a phala-śruti style petition that the rite’s ‘desired fruit’ be granted by honoring Śiva’s command.
Mantra: satkṛtya śivayorājñāṃ diśaṃtu phalamīpsitam | vṛkṣarājo mahātejā mahāmeghasamasvanaḥ
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing

It emphasizes that honoring Śiva’s ordinance (ājñā) is itself a form of bhakti; when devotion aligns with Śiva’s will, the sought-after fruit—worldly welfare and ultimately spiritual uplift—naturally manifests.
The verse points to Saguna devotion: following Śiva’s expressed command and seeking His grace for results. In Linga-worship, iṣṭa-phala is traditionally understood as arising from disciplined pūjā performed in accordance with Śaiva injunctions.
A practical takeaway is to perform Śiva-pūjā with strict reverence to prescribed rules—especially japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offering with a prayer for iṣṭa-phala—placing the result at Śiva’s feet.
