Agnikārya and Homa Procedure

Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Affirms that tīrtha-water and ṛṣi-sanctioned substances can substitute in ritual; when even these are absent, a single available offering with faith is acceptable—supporting inclusive pilgrimage/householder practice.
It teaches that śraddhā (devout sincerity) is the core of Shaiva worship—when the heart is steady in devotion to Shiva, even minimal means can become spiritually effective.
Linga/Saguna worship often includes offerings and homa, but this verse emphasizes that Shiva accepts the intention behind the offering; if ideal items are absent, a simple substitute offered with faith still honors the Linga.
Perform a simple homa or offering using whatever pure item is available, while maintaining focused devotion—ideally accompanied by Shiva-mantra japa (such as the Panchakshara) to anchor the mind in worship.
