आवरणपूजाविधानम् / The Procedure of Āvaraṇa (Enclosure) Worship
उपमन्युरुवाच । अनुक्तं चात्र पूजायाः कमलोपभयादिव । यत्तदन्यत्प्रवक्ष्यामि समासान्न तु विस्तरात्
upamanyuruvāca | anuktaṃ cātra pūjāyāḥ kamalopabhayādiva | yattadanyatpravakṣyāmi samāsānna tu vistarāt
Upamanyu thưa: “Ở đây, một vài chi tiết của nghi lễ thờ phụng—như việc dâng hoa sen và các phẩm vật khác—vẫn chưa được nói đến. Vì vậy nay ta sẽ trình bày những điểm còn lại, chỉ tóm lược chứ không dài dòng.”

Significance: Functions as a ritual-teaching hinge: the ācārya-like speaker (Upamanyu) completes the pūjā-vidhi by supplying omitted upacāras (e.g., lotus offerings), reinforcing that correct procedure (kriyā) supports inner purification and receptivity to grace.

It signals that Shiva-worship is complete only when the remaining upacāras (devotional services) are properly understood and performed; devotion is expressed through orderly, reverent offerings to Pati (Shiva), guiding the soul (paśu) toward grace and liberation.
By introducing “lotus offerings and other items,” the verse frames Linga/Saguṇa worship as a structured ritual of love and surrender, where tangible offerings become a means to focus the mind and honor Shiva’s immanent presence.
It implies completing Shiva-pūjā with proper upacāras—such as offering flowers (including lotus), maintaining purity and attention, and accompanying the worship with Shiva-mantra (notably the Panchakshara) as a steady inner meditation.
