It emphasizes that mantra practice is not merely personal recitation but a sanctified, guru-guided discipline: the disciple is brought into a consecrated space (maṇḍala) and the mantras are approached through purificatory observances, aligning the bound soul (paśu) toward Shiva (Pati).
The maṇḍala and preparatory rites are part of orderly Shaiva worship where Saguna Shiva—often approached through the Linga and mantra—is invoked with ritual purity and correct sequence under a teacher, so the worship becomes a fit vessel for Shiva’s grace.
It points to initiation-style procedure: entering a consecrated maṇḍala under the guru, observing humility (uncovered head), and performing tarpaṇa and related preliminary/closing mantra-rites as preparation for deeper japa or pūjā.
