उपमन्युतपः-निवारणप्रसङ्गः / Śiva restrains Upamanyu’s tapas (Śiva disguised as Indra)
वरान्वरय सुप्रीत्या मनो ऽभिलषितान्परान् । प्रसन्नो ऽहं प्रदास्यामि नात्र कार्या विचारणा
varānvaraya suprītyā mano 'bhilaṣitānparān | prasanno 'haṃ pradāsyāmi nātra kāryā vicāraṇā
“Với lòng yêu mến sâu xa, hãy chọn các ân phúc—những ân phúc tối thượng mà tâm ngươi hằng ước nguyện. Ta đã hoan hỷ; ta sẽ ban cho. Việc này không cần bàn luận thêm.”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Models Śiva’s prasāda: wholehearted surrender (śaraṇāgati) culminates in boon-bestowal; devotees read this as assurance of compassionate accessibility.
Role: liberating
It highlights Shiva’s anugraha (grace): when devotion ripens into sincere love, the Lord becomes “prasanna” and removes hesitation, granting what leads the devotee toward welfare and ultimately liberation.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s accessible compassion—worship of the Linga with bhakti culminates in the Lord’s direct favor, where Shiva personally authorizes the devotee’s chosen spiritual aims.
The implied practice is bhakti-centered upāsanā: Linga-pūjā with mantra-japa (especially “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and humble prayer, seeking boons aligned with dharma and inner purification.
