उपमन्युतपः-निवारणप्रसङ्गः / Śiva restrains Upamanyu’s tapas (Śiva disguised as Indra)

The verse highlights Śiva’s gracious, visible (saguṇa) presence with Śakti (the Devī), showing that divine grace is accessible through darśana—seeing the Lord as the Pati (Supreme) who is ever attended by His gaṇas and protective powers.
While Liṅga worship points to Śiva’s transcendent reality, this verse emphasizes saguṇa upāsanā—contemplating Śiva with Devī on Nandin—supporting devotion where form, attributes, and divine attendants become aids to concentration and surrender.
Meditate on Śiva with Devī seated on Nandin, mentally offering worship while repeating the Pañcākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"); optionally perform Tripuṇḍra-bhasma application and conclude with a prayer for protection, recalling the triśūla and the Lord’s guarding gaṇas.
