FAQs

It praises the Supreme Pati (Lord Shiva) as the primal all-knowing reality who awakens all beings from ignorance, affirming that divine grace both illumines the intellect and fulfills worthy prayers on the path to liberation.

By celebrating Shiva’s knowability and grace in a hymn, it supports Saguna upāsanā—approaching the Lord through praise and devotion—while implying the deeper Nirguna truth: the same Shiva is the source of all knowledge and awakening symbolized by the Linga.

Recite this “jaya” praise as a stotra before Linga worship, ideally alongside the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering bilva leaves and maintaining a prayerful focus on Shiva as the giver of boons and the awakener of inner wisdom.
