brāhmaṇo brahmavarcasvī kṣatriyo vijayī bhavet | vaiśyo dhana samṛddhassyācchūdrassatsamatāmiyāt
Nhờ công đức lấy Śiva làm trung tâm được nói ở đây, bà-la-môn trở nên rạng ngời hào quang linh thiêng; sát-đế-lỵ trở nên chiến thắng; phệ-xá đạt sự thịnh vượng về tài sản; và thủ-đà-la đạt đến trạng thái bình đẳng cao quý cùng những bậc hiền thiện.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the fruit of Śiva-related worship/merit to the sages)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Promises differentiated worldly and ethical uplift according to varṇa—tejas for brāhmaṇa, victory for kṣatriya, wealth for vaiśya, and ‘sat-samatā’ (moral elevation/equality with the virtuous) for śūdra—framing Śiva’s grace as socially pervasive and pragmatically beneficial.
Role: nurturing
It presents Śiva-bhakti as universally uplifting: each social order gains its appropriate excellence, while the deeper point is that virtue and inner refinement arise from Śiva-centered merit, not merely from birth or status.
The verse summarizes the phala (result) of Saguna Śiva worship—commonly expressed in the Purāṇas as grace that strengthens dharma, success, prosperity, and moral elevation for all devotees approaching Śiva through the Liṅga and prescribed rites.
A practical takeaway is steady Śiva-upāsanā—Liṅga-pūjā with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—performed with purity and devotion to obtain these fruits and inner ennoblement.
