Shiva and Parvati
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; the verse foregrounds Śiva–Śakti as parental teachers establishing niyama (discipline) for the sons.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It presents Śiva and Śivā as compassionate gurus who establish niyama (disciplined observance) for the welfare of devotees; happiness here implies both worldly harmony and the inner purity that supports liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta frame.
By emphasizing niyama and truthful instruction from the Divine Couple, the verse supports Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva with loving discipline—often expressed through orderly pūjā, mantra-japa, and reverent hearing (śravaṇa) of Śiva’s teachings.
The direct takeaway is śravaṇa with prīti (devotional listening) and adopting a niyama—such as daily pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa—performed consistently as a happiness-giving discipline.
