It highlights dharma as disciplined reverence: even in Śiva’s household, actions are framed by proper consent and order, teaching devotees humility, restraint, and respect for the Divine Mother’s role in Śiva’s līlā.
The verse reflects Saguna Śiva’s lived divine conduct—devotees approach Śiva through maryādā (proper protocol) and devotion, honoring Śiva-Śakti unity; this same reverent approach underlies temple worship of the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is sādhana with niyama: begin japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) only after a moment of inner permission—calming the mind, offering intention to Śiva and Śakti, and proceeding with disciplined attention.
