Bālakāṇḍa 18
कौसल्या शुशुभे तेन पुत्रेणामिततेजसा।।।।यथा वरेण देवानामदितिर्वज्रपाणिना।
kausalyā śuśubhe tena putreṇāmitatejasā || 1.18.11 ||
yathā vareṇa devānām aditir vajrapāṇinā |
Kausalyā rạng ngời nhờ người con có uy quang vô lượng ấy, như Aditi rạng ngời nhờ Indra—bậc tối thượng giữa chư thiên, tay cầm lôi chùy.
Kausalya glowed with the undiminished lustre of her son, just as Aditi with her son Indra, the foremost among the gods and the wielder of thunder.
Dharma is linked with tejas (radiant moral power): the birth of a dharmic figure brings uplift and legitimacy to the household and the kingdom.
Following Rāma’s birth, the text poetically depicts Kausalyā’s splendor, comparing her to Aditi after Indra’s birth.
