अध्याय ५०: उत्तरेण सह अर्जुनस्य रथप्रयाणे ध्वजचिह्नैः कौरवसेनानिर्देशः
Arjuna directs Uttara by identifying Kaurava commanders through banners
संग्रामांश्च बहून् जित्वा लब्धवा च विपुलं धनम् | विजित्य च परां सेनां नाहु: किंचन पौरुषम्
saṅgrāmāṁś ca bahūn jitvā labdhvā ca vipulaṁ dhanam | vijitya ca parāṁ senāṁ nāhuḥ kiñcana pauruṣam ||
Kṛpa nói: “Dẫu đã thắng nhiều trận, thu được của cải dồi dào và đánh bại cả một đạo quân địch, người trí vẫn không sa vào lời tự khoe khoang rỗng tuếch. Lửa thiêu mọi vật thành tro mà chẳng cần xưng danh; mặt trời tỏa sáng trong im lặng; đất mẹ không nói mà vẫn gánh vác muôn loài động và bất động. Cũng vậy, dũng lực chân thật được chứng bằng việc làm, không phải bằng lời khoác lác.”
