एवं ते प्रययुर्वीरा वीक्षमाणा: परस्परम् । भयार्ता: पाण्डुपुत्राणामागस्कृत्वा महात्मनाम्,महात्मा पाण्डवोंका अपराध करके भयसे पीड़ित हुए वे तीनों वीर इस प्रकार एक- दूसरेकी ओर देखते हुए वहाँसे खिसक गये
evaṁ te prayayur vīrā vīkṣamāṇāḥ parasparam | bhayārtāḥ pāṇḍuputrāṇām āgaskṛtvā mahātmanām ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana nói: Thế rồi những chiến binh ấy lên đường, ngoái nhìn nhau. Bị nỗi sợ bủa vây—vì đã phạm tội với những người con đại hồn của Pāṇḍu—họ lặng lẽ rút khỏi nơi ấy, gánh nặng tội lỗi đè lên lòng.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wrongdoing against the righteous brings inner fear and shame; even the strong become unsettled when conscience and moral order (dharma) are violated, leading to withdrawal rather than confidence.
A group of warriors, conscious that they have offended the noble Pāṇḍavas, look at each other in anxious silence and then leave the place, driven by fear and the sense of guilt.
