आपपलुत्य तत्र तीर्थेषु यथोक्तं तत्र चर्षिभि: | कृत्वोपवासनियमं दत्त्वा दानानि सर्वश:

Transliteration

āpaplutya tatra tīrtheṣu yathoktaṃ tatra carṣibhiḥ | kṛtvopavāsaniyamaṃ dattvā dānāni sarvaśaḥ ||

Translation

Tắm gội tại các bến thiêng (tīrtha) ở đó đúng như các bậc hiền triết đã chỉ dạy, họ nhận lấy kỷ luật khổ hạnh—giữ giới, nhịn ăn—và bằng mọi cách bố thí rộng rãi. Đoạn này nêu rõ khuôn mẫu đạo đức của cuộc hành hương: thanh tịnh nhờ tắm gội, tự chế nhờ lời nguyện, và viên mãn công đức nhờ sự bố thí hào phóng.
