यत्र देवा: समागम्य वासुकिं पन्नगोत्तमम् | सर्वपन्नगराजानमभ्यषिज्चन् यथाविधि,वहीं देवताओंने आकर सर्पोमें श्रेष्ठ वासुकिको समस्त सर्पोके राजाके पदपर विधिपूर्वक अभिषिक्त किया था
yatra devāḥ samāgamya vāsukiṃ pannagottamam | sarvapannagarājānam abhyaṣiñcan yathāvidhi ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana nói: “Chính tại nơi ấy, các chư thiên đã hội tụ và, theo đúng nghi lễ quy định, làm lễ quán đảnh tấn phong Vāsuki—bậc tối thượng trong loài rắn—làm đế vương tối cao trên mọi vua rắn.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Authority and leadership are portrayed as dharmically valid when conferred through proper procedure (yathāvidhi) and communal/divine recognition, emphasizing legitimacy grounded in order and rite rather than coercion.
Vaiśaṃpāyana recounts a traditional episode: the gods gather and perform a formal consecration (abhiṣeka) to install Vāsuki as the supreme ruler among the serpent chiefs.
